More than 60 Italian companies are participating in Metalloobrabotka, the most important trade fair for the machine tool industry in Russia.

Organized independently or as participants of the Italian collective organized by “UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE” in collaboration with ICE-Agency, the Italian companies present at the fair represent the entire spectrum of the sector production made in Italy.

Leading the delegation of companies is the president of the association of Italian machine tool, robot and automation manufacturers, Massimo Carboniero who, on the first day of the mission, met on the occasion of a tour of the Italian stands set up at the fair, Denis Manturov, Minister of Economic Development and Russian Trade.

On the other hand, Russia represents an important market for Italian machine tool builders who, in 2017, saw exports grow again after a period of decline. With an increase of 17%, sales of made in Italy by sector in the country have reached 90 million euros, making Russia the eighth outlet market for the Italian offer; in 2016 he was in tenth position.

Massimo Carboniero commented:
“Is also thanks to the important measures introduced by the Italian government in the field of Industry 4.0, the sector made in Italy offer is nowadays even more competitive for users all over the world. To flexibility, high technological standards and strong customization we have added the interconnection dimension that assures our customers more efficient, performing and eco-sustainable production and processes “.

During the course of the mission the president of “UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE” intervened in the work of “The International Forum: Digital Engineering Production” organized by the University of Stankin in Moscow with which the association has, for some years, a privileged relationship built around the project of the Italo-Russian Technological Center hosted by the university institute and developed together with the Ministry of Economic Development and ICE-Agency. Inaugurated at the end of 2012 and equipped with Italian machines and technologies, the Italian-Russian Technological Center of the University of Stankin has already trained hundreds of students of the engineering faculty as well as many technicians engaged in training and refresher courses.

“For us – said Massimo Carboniero, visiting the Center on the second day of the mission – it is a great satisfaction to be able to contribute to the training of local young people as well as a way to promote Made in Italy: students and technicians are the best future ambassadors of the value and quality of the Italian sector offer in Russia “.

“The appreciation expressed by our university colleagues – concluded Carboniero – confirms our good work and the validity of the initiative that is added to many others, carried out and planned, designed to strengthen the link between the machine industry Italian tool and Russian partners “.

The interest of local operators for the sector made in Italy is confirmed by the positive feedback gathered by the Italian companies exhibiting at Metalloobrabotka. Also because of this, as part of the mission organized by “UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE”, Ministry of Economic Development and ICE-Agency, the delegation of Russian operators invited to visit 31.BI-MU, the international event dedicated to industry sector scheduled from 9 to 13 October 2018 at fieramilano Rho.
