EuroBLECH 2020 postponed to 9 – 12 March 2021

Mack Brooks Exhibitions has announced the postponement of EuroBLECH, which was scheduled to take place at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds in Germany from 27 to 30 October 2020. The new dates for the next EuroBLECH, 26th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, are 9 -12 March 2021. This decision was taken after extensive conversations with all exhibitors and partners over recent weeks and months who have expressed their preference not to hold the show in October, in light of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Uncertainties around travel restrictions in order to maintain the truly international character of the EuroBLECH event were also a concern to many participants.

Speaking about the announcement, Nicola Hamann, Managing Director of Mack Brooks Exhibitions said: “The past months have been challenging, in particular for the sheet metal working industry and its related industry sectors. We have seen a decrease in orders of capital goods and many companies are telling us about their challenges in dealing with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although we have recently received authority approval for our Safety and Security concept to hold EuroBLECH in October this year, we have decided to postpone EuroBLECH to Spring 2021”.

As part of a recent series of industry surveys, the participants of EuroBLECH indicated their requirement to network and conduct business in order to pave the way for the recovery of the industry following the Covid-19 pandemic. EuroBLECH will therefore offer a virtual hub for the global sheet metal working industry in October: “Following feedback from our exhibitors and visitors indicating the need to participate in an event, even if not in a physical form, we will organise a Digital Innovation Summit taking place from 27 to 30 October, our planned event slot. This Digital Innovation Summit will provide our exhibitors with a platform to demonstrate their latest machines and solutions and arrange virtual meetings with international visitors. We believe it is our duty to assist the industry through these extraordinary times by offering a market place this year as a platform for innovations and a starting point for the recovery of the industry”, continued Nicola Hamann.

The EuroBLECH Team will communicate closely with customers and partners over the coming weeks and months and thank their exhibitors, partners, suppliers and visitors for their support during this challenging time. wire Russia will take place in Moscow in 2021 parallel to Tube Russia, Metallurgy Russia and Litmash Russia

The leading regional Russian trade fair for the wire and cable industry – wire Russia – will take place in the Russian metropolis from 8 to 10 June 2021. Around 200 companies from 25 countries are expected at the Moscow EXPOCENTRE in Krasnaya Presnya.

Together with its local partner VNIIKP, All-Russian Cable Scientific Research and Development Institute, Messe Düsseldorf Moscow will once again be staging the regional highlight of the wire and cable industry in 2021 in Hall 1 of EXPOCENTRE over three days.

Many companies from Russia, its neighbouring countries and from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Great Britain, Austria, Switzerland and Italy will be travelling to the Russian capital to establish new business relations, intensify existing contacts and present technological innovations from the wire and cable industry.

The exhibitors at wire Russia show machines and plants for wire production and wire refinement, forming technology, spring production technology, cable and strand machines, tools and aids for process engineering as well as measuring and control technology. The product range is supplemented by wire rod, bright wire, wire mesh, special wire, cables and plates.

The trade fairs Tube Russia, Metallurgy Russia and Litmash Russia are held parallel to wire Russia.

Current technologies in the fields of tube manufacturing, tube processing and tube machining are the focus of Tube Russia 2021. Once again, the ITA (International Tube Association) together with Messe Düsseldorf will be organising a Tube Industry Development 2021 seminar, which will focus on practical applications for tubes and tube technologies.

KASTO, seamless linking of sheet metal storage systems and processing machines

It is equipped with a vacuum cross bar, which picks up individual sheets in pre-prepared packages from the storage facility and places them on the table of the respective processing machine. “At the pulse of time” – Interview about successful digitization and sales strategies for component manufacturers

It is more important than ever for component manufacturers to be well positioned in terms of digitalization. The current situation in particular shows that companies that rely on digital sales strategies are already better positioned and will find it even easier to secure their competitiveness in the future. KRAUS Austria, whose conveyor rollers are used by well-known global players in the field of conveying technology and logistics, has also realized this. KRAUS Austria has recognized the necessity for the digitalization of processes and is investing in the successful implementation of its digitalization strategy in times of this worldwide exceptional situation in order to position itself even better on the European market in the future.

The core of the strategy is in particular the implementation of a digital product catalog with intelligent engineering data, so-called digital twins. The topic of digitization is currently on everyone’s lips. What changes will it bring with it and what strategies can component manufacturers derive from it?

For component manufacturers, this means that they must provide their customers with more digital product information with maximum convenience. This will enable designers to develop their products easily and quickly using digital twins. Especially in the field of materials handling technology, component suppliers will only be able to establish themselves in the market in the future if they provide 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of their products in an uncomplicated way. Because such complex conveyor systems always have to be specially designed for the respective application. At the end of the day, there will always be designers involved who strategically plan the conveyor system and benefit enormously from existing engineering data and the simple configuration of components.”

To what extent is digitization something that plays a strategically important role for medium-sized companies at this time?

“Especially in the current time of this exceptional situation and social restrictions, the investment in digitization and solutions such as the product configurator of CADENAS pays off. As it is still much easier for many designers to configure a component in their own language. “Despite the improved digital customer service, the personal advice provided by our employees will of course continue to play a major role in our digitization process. We would like to be available as consulting experts. In direct contact, for example, we can find out all the necessary information about the purpose and location of our conveyor rollers planned by the customer. This is because the type of transport rollers vary depending on which loads (e.g. Euro pallets, mesh boxes or packages) are to be transported in which logistics facility. This is how we ensure that our customers have configured the right product to deliver. “In the past, this was much more complex from a sales point of view. With the new service for conveyor rollers, we no longer have to acquire customers individually by mail or telephone. At the same time, we no longer have to manually design components for individual inquiries. This helps our customers to bring their products to market much faster. Whatever their requirements, customers can now easily and quickly assemble idlers, download them in over 150 CAD formats and save valuable time in product design.”

India continues to be one of the most dynamic aluminium markets

India is among the fastest growing aluminium markets. The industry is expanding its capacities and investing in new technologies to satisfy the rising demands in the energy, transport, construction and packaging sectors.

ALUMINIUM INDIA 2021 will mirror how this market is developing early next year. From 4 to 6 February the biggest industry event on this subcontinent will take place in Bhubaneswar, at the heart of the Indian aluminium industry. The trade fair will be accompanied by the renowned INCAL Conference organised by the Aluminium Association of India (AAI).

2,500 visitors and 120 exhibitors from India, China, North America and Europe are expected to visit the 7th edition of ALUMINIUM INDIA – ranging from international technology providers to regional producers and processors.

Growth markets e-mobility, electric systems and smart cities

In India it is especially infrastructure projects that drive growth and open up market opportunities for the aluminium industry. One of the biggest projects here is the modernisation of the power grid but commercial construction and smart cities are also inducing demand.

India also wants to take e-mobility to the next level: by 2030 30% of all new vehicles registered are to be e-vehicles, from 2030 only passenger cars with battery drive are planned to be registered. State funding for this has increased markedly. The two Japanese manufacturers Toyota and Suzuki have already announced the wish to jointly develop a model exclusively for India.
